Rich Art Forms Of Dances Of India

India has a rich history of art forms, specially, dance forms. It goes back to more than 5000 years when India was so advanced with many classical dance forms. If you are an art lover, you cannot ignore the dancing art forms of India.

There are six major dance forms of India which has made the history of art so loveable. Those dance forms are bharat natyam, kuchipudi, orissi, Manipuri and kathakali. All the classical dance forms of India is basically divided into Nritta and nritya.

Nritta is to create physical delighfulness through shapes and illusion and moving while making expressions through those movements. Nritya means acting or abhinaya. Any dance cannot be given full marks if it lacks abhinaya part. A dancers eye, lips, everything should be expressive.

But each dance form is from different part of India and still having something common in them. It is really magical to know that each dance forms have so much to learn that one lifetime of a dancer is not sufficient. Some dance forms needs background music during performance and others need mime. Generally most of the dance forms use mime while performance.

The musical instruments used in dance forms depend on the place of their origins. Each dance forms have their own style of performance although they have originated in the same country. The costumes for the dances are unique; one does not match with the other. But each dance form is a pleasure for your eye, if you have sense of art.
