Making your own Chinese arts and crafts can be a very challenging as well as a rewarding experience. Chinese arts and crafts are very beautiful and unique.

Chinese folk art paper cutting can be done with a steady hand and lots of practice as well as patience. You will need to draw a picture on to a red piece of paper and cut away from the drawing. Once you have done this you will then paste the cut out to a white piece of paper to hang up.
The art of Chinese knotting can be done with most any type of thread or cord. There are several different types of looks and effects that can be achieved with the twelve knots that you will be making.

Chinese Parasols are made with water colors. For a traditional look, you should paint things like butterflies, cranes, peacocks and cherry blossoms. Coloring pages combined work great for patterns.

One of the more difficult and involved types of Chinese arts and crafts include making your own Chinese lantern. For this project you will need red card stock as well as vellum sheets. You can make yours into any colors that you want, but red and gold are the traditional colors of Chinese lanterns. You can draw designs onto your lantern or leave it blank, it is best to use markers should you decide to do this.
